UPDATE REPORT ON 2012 PUBLIC SERVICE WAGE NEGOTIATIONS AS ON THE 23 APRIL 2012

The Public Service Wage negotiations resumed in the morning of Monday, 23 April 2012 at the PSCBC with the Employer indicating the following:

  • That their intention to move to 5.9% (in line with the Treasury projected CPI) as their amended offer is without prejudice;
  • The offer would also be formally tabled on the following conditions:

o That the offer would be a settlement offer; and
o That it would be on the following multi-term provisions:

  • Financial Year 2012/13: 5.9% (Projected CPI);
  • Financial Year 2013/14: CPI + 0.2%; and
  • Financial Year 2014/2015: CPI + 01%

The meeting ended in a stalemate, in that the Employer indicated that they would be prepared to negotiate further on the condition that Labour is prepared to move from its original demands.

The negotiations would resume on Tuesday, 24 April 2012 at 14h00.
