SADTU wishes NEHAWU a successful Congress

26 June 2017

The South African Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU) wishes its sister union and steadfast affiliate of COSATU, the National Education Health and Allied Workers' Union (NEHAWU) a successful 11th National Congress that is due take place from 26-29 June in Boksburg under the theme: Strengthen workplace organisation, deepen class consciousness and advance internationalism.

The Congress is of outmost importance to the Union as its highest decision making body and is expected to adopt policies and resolutions that will map out a new mandate for the Union for the next four years.

It is also historic as it coincides with the Union's 30th anniversary.

SADTU wishes that NEHAWU - a union that has made huge strides in the public service sector, will emerge from the congress more committed to its founding principles of uniting workers and fighting for their rights in the workplace.

The unity of NEHAWU is what is required as we face economic challenges, factionalism in our revolutionary movement and corruption in public and private sectors.

Happy 30th anniversary to our sister Union.

Khula NEHAWU, khula!
