SADTU Free State congratulates Free State MPLS

29 May 2019

The South African Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU) in Free State congratulates the appointment of Mme Sisi Ntombela as one of the female premiers. Her appointment confirms the commitment of the movement on female representation in senior government positions.

We further welcome the appointment of Comrade Ntombizanele Sifuba, the former Provincial Deputy Secretary of SADTU in Free State as the Speaker of Provincial Legislature. We are confident of her capabilities, skills, experience and assertiveness that will enable her to rise to the occasion and be up to the task.

We also congratulate the MEC for Education, Dr Rate Makgoe for, once more, being entrusted with the task to steer this important Department of Education which is the government's apex priority. His experience and knowledge of the department serves as an advantage to take education to greater heights given the current challenges the province and the country are faced with.

In conclusion, we congratulate all the MECs appointed to lead the Free State government. We respect the decision of the movement and we are confident that all the MECs will render quality service to the masses whose beacon of hope remains the African National Congress.
